Comments: I brought my American Brittany, Roscoe down in January and stayed until May in my 5th wheel while Roscoe was in training with Markus. I trained with him and Roscoe every Saturday. I was impressed with Markus's knowledge and his concern for the dogs. I really liked that he trained me while training my dog Roscoe. I was able to monitor his progress at the same time. Roscoe completed his training and stands his birds through shot. Markus and I were able to shoot birds over him before I had to leave. I am coming back next January and doing some hunting with Markus and Roscoe. P.S. (Markus likes 20 gauges)

Comments: I picked up a started dog from Markus last year (English pointer). I took her straight to Montana in October she handled pheasant well!pointed sharptail Grouse and Hungarian Partridge during the course of seven days. She handled very well all types of cover. She hunted well for me in four diffrent states. (Well trained) .I also pick up a pup(gsp) and gave her back to Markus at 5 months and he finished her training. The gsp came back to me completely whoa broke retrieving pretty well to hand starting to back. I'm about to start my first hunting season with her.I'm looking forward to it I think she's going to do well.Alot of Bird drive, this GSP loves to retrieve .I don't think I'll lose a bird with her on the ground. I've spent some time at Markus's kennel training with him and just hanging out. he is a great guy all around and is fair honest. He is an excellent trainer.Great methods and routine . Gentleman if you want a good quality dog Wrangler kennels is the place to start and finish.

Comments: We have had two pointers with Markus. In both cases he gave us an honest straight forward appraisal of their potential as gun dogs. We currently have the young female with him for training.Markus knows bird dogs and how to develop their potential. we have very impressed with the progress our dog has made in a relatively short time.

Comments: Took our 6 month old labradoodle, Louie, to Markus and he was a typical puppy. He was to the point our kids were scared of him and would not play with him and I was having a hard time just getting him to sit. Markus took him and 4 months later he is twice the size and three times the dog. The kids play with him everyday and are very excited about it, not scared at all. He understands basic commands and has great manners for a 10 month old puppy. Markus did a great job training us as a family on how to keep Louie on the right track and get him to do what we want. Thank you Markus for all the great work!!!

Comments: I got Black Mountain Little Joe “CJ” in 2016 from Markus at Wrangler Kennels. On January 21, 2019, he ran an open AZ NSTRA trial against dogs from multiple states and multiple champions. CJ placed 1st and 5th for the day winning High Point Dog of the day.

It has been great to work with Markus as he is a great trainer and a wonderful person. I highly recommend Wrangler Kennels to anyone who is looking to have their dog trained to hunt.

Comments: Have had both of my dogs with Markus over the past five weeks. A female GSP and a pointing lab. Both have shown tremendous improvement over this short period of time. Markus ability to train these two totally different breeds was amazing. (Not anyone else I know of that deals with pointing labs around this area.) What impressed me the most is his personal touch with each dog. He cares for them as though they are his very own. His kennels are very clean and comfortable for the dogs. This was especially impressive to me because I and many others are always hesitant about leaving our dogs in a strange place. I highly recommend Wrangler Kennels for all your bird dog training.

Comments: Even in the short time that Cooper has been at WK, we've seen a marked improvement in his demeanor and obedience in the field. Markus is wonderfully patient with the both of us, coming from a total lack of hunting experience, and has taught us tons in how to control Cooper in the field. He has even offered to take us hunting and show us the ropes. Talk about going above and beyond! Highly recommend WK to anyone looking for quality training for their hunting pup.

Comments: This past Saturday Emily and I took Mup a Griffon who will be 4 months on the 25th of September to see Markus for our first training session. Overall the experience was great we were very impressed and plan to make it to as many weekend sessions as we can. Markus allowed me and encouraged Emily to be very hands on and was great at showing us techniques to use to help train Mup. You can really feel and see his passion for training dogs.

Comments: I have nothing but praise for Markus and his ability to handle and work quality bird dogs. He knows how to read them and adjust to their way of learning. I have raised and trained many good bird dogs myself so i know what to look for in a dog and a trainer. I bought Ayla in October of 2014 and picked her up at the airport took a couple of months to bond with her and quickly found that she was very intelligent and intuitive and had a hell of a nose and a strong will to please. Due to my busy schedule i felt it better to look for a quality trainer rather than do it myself i found the right match with Markus. He worked with Ayla and allowed me to work with them on the weekends and on some afternoons that summer. By August i was getting that itch and since Ayla is a GWP she is an all purpose dog and Dove season was just around the corner. That year i hunted Dove,Teal, Quail and ducks with Ayla and she never failed to please! She is an Awesome three year old now. Thanks Markus!

Comments: I heard about Markus from a friend. I have two Vizslas - one is a year old the other two years old. I didn't want to hunt train the guys, I desperately needed to learn how to control them and give them basic obedience. I had been to some basic obedience classed somewhere else prior but it really didn't yield the results I was looking for. Markus was incredible. He took my guys and me and transformed me into the Alpha. When I brought them there I couldn't even let them out of my car without them pulling me off my feet. Today, we are a team. Markus never gave up on me and never gave up on them. I love the fact that he always made time for me to come weekly and work with them - sometimes just me and my two guys and sometimes with a group. Markus was firm and consistent with me and the dogs - but he's amazing. My guys would do anything he asked, and then wag their tail when he came over to them. I have never owned a birddog - and then I got two. I had no idea what I was getting into - but I knew that I loved my boys and wanted to have a happy life together where they and I could live comfortably. Thanks to Markus we are now in that place!

Comments: I have had the greatest time working with Markus over the last few months. I have watched him transform my dog and many other dogs into hunting machines. His ability to read a dog and judge its ability and then tailor his training approach to that specific dog is remarkable. He knows and understands how to train dogs like I could not imagine. Not only did he train my dog Scarlett, he trained me as well. You can watch youtube videos and DVDs and read books all day but until you have someone working with you and your dog you wont fully grasp the concepts. Markus is a great guy and is willing to go out of his way to work with every client he has. It has been a pleasure to work him and I am grateful for all he has done for Scarlett and I.I hope to get one of his puppies as soon as the wife lets me. If anyone has any questions about my experience please send me an e-mail and I would be happy to help. Thanks for everything Markus.

Comments: Our GSP went to Markus for training at the age of 19 months old. She had a full quail season of hunting from the previous year and had developed the horrible habit of flushing birds. One great components to the training program Markus offers is that the owners can take part in the training on the weekends. Not only do you get to see your dog, but you can see the progress and get trained yourself so you can be a better dog handler. In the end, Markus trained her for 2.5 months and the result from beginning to end was astonishing. We got Maya back in the middle of quail season and Markus instructed us how to hunt her and reinforce the training. I thank Markus for saving our girl, she’s back to pointing and improves on every hunt. During the training sessions we participated in we also saw some of Markus’s dogs in action and he has bred and trained top notch bird dogs. The kennels are clean and well kept. Our girl was well trained and taken care of by Markus. We couldn’t be happier.

Comments: Marcus, thought I'd drop a line about the pup I got from you in 2011 (Gunner/Secret litter). Buster matured into my #1 dog, which means many times he gets hunted long and hard. Now that I'm retired I get to hunt 3 to 5 days a week for about 2 1/2 months. He hunts as I had hoped he would but the part that really surprised me has been his retrieving. He's a real good dead bird finder, just call him in if he didn't see the action and tell him "dead" and he'll tear the place apart looking for it if need be. Also he loves water and will hit the water for a retreive hard enough to make a Lab owner proud. One of the places I hunt is along the North Platte River, there's been a couple times I had to pass on a shot because I was afraid the bird would fall into the water, as tough as he is he's got no business in the river when there's ice in it. He was never put through forced retrieve training, my wife had him retrieving a water bottle on the way home at 8 weeks. Hope to see you soon.

Comments: We purchased a female English Pointer pup from the cross of Wranglers Honkey Tonk Joe and Wranglers Little Patti. Our dog, Piper, Is just 8 months old. She has been training on pigeons and quail. Piper has learned to Point, Back and retrieve - What a Natural! We have not had a dog with such a great nose, poker straight tail and the natural drive to find birds since out last Crow's Little Joe pup many years ago. We are looking forward to running Piper in NSTRA and look forward to many years of placements! Thank you, Markus for such a fantastic pup! We definitely will be looking to purchase another dog from Wrangler Kennels! FYI: I sent you a picture or three of Piper on point!

Comments: Markus did a great job with my dog Groot Lab/GSP. My wife was excited on how well he behaves now. Before we sent him to Markus for training he would jump up on her and the kids. Now he doesn't jump and is great with the kids. Markus also did a great job on his bird training. I am ready for the next bird season to have him for a full hunting season. Markus thank you again for all you did with Groot. I hope to get a GSP from you in the future.

Comments: I bought a pup from the last Gunner x Jo Jo litter and so far have been extremely happy. He is the youngest dog on my string and is turning out to be one of my best bird finders. I can't wait to start formal training to find out how much I will be able to polish this dog! The buying process was also very pleasant with outstanding communication from Markus from start to finish. I'm sure this will not be my last dog from Wrangler Kennels.

Comments: We have a young female out of a Wrangler's Honky Tonk Joe and Pinehill Pure Copper cross. This has been her first real hunting season on wild Kansas pheasants and quail. She's making an OUTSTANDING young dog. She's beautiful to watch in the field, she is a natural retriever to hand and the first time we took her with other dogs she naturally honored their point each time throughout the day. Have had other bird dogs in the past and think she is one of the most natural bird dogs with a great nose and OUTSTANDING trainability. So easy to handle. Would recommend these bloodlines to anyone.

Comments: Markus did a wonderful job training our chocolate lab, coco. She was a handful and Markus patiently worked with her in obedience and hunting training. Coco does well in public, on the hiking trails and has been retrieving doves this season. Markus takes time to work with the owners as well so we are able to communicate with Coco more effectively. Thanks Markus.

Comments: I had a new pointer and was lost on where to start with training and worried I would ruin him. I was directed to Wrangler Kennels where he’d had two of his dogs trained by Markus. I spoke with Markus and we met up to assess each other and my new dog. We began training in May, 2013 and I was immediately impressed with Markus’s approach to training. He was very methodical and thoughtful in his assessment of each dog and designing training that met each dog where it was at developmentally. My dog and I quickly progressed under Markus’s guidance and my setter responded positively to his training approach.Along with training my dog, Markus has trained me to be patient and understanding in the training process and has helped me forge a bond with my dog that will carry through the years and into the field. There is no doubt that my setter and I have flourished with Markus’s approach to dog training using logical, thoughtful, time tested methods that allow each dog to grow.
